I'm excited to announce a new feature on the blog. Each week I'll be featuring a different Brandonista. What's a Brandonista? A smart & savvy woman rocking the small business world. Today, the spotlight shines on Kelli Mitchell, proprietress of Pink Lemonade Co., LLC.
Name: Kelli Mitchell
Business Name: Pink Lemonade Company, LLC
Business Name: Pink Lemonade Company, LLC
Occupation: Graphic & Web Designer
1. Describe your business in 2 sentences.
Pink Lemonade Company is a fun little company that offers graphic and web design. As of 2012, PLC is very excited to be able to offer direct to garment printing.2. How did you come up with your business concept/idea?
It was a process of finding myself, what I loved, and putting the words, "do what you love, and love what you do" into action. I was working in a job in which I had almost zero passion and then was blessed with a life changing challenge in the form of cancer. When I got past the scary part, I decided life was too precious to be wasted on mind-numbing routines. So I decided to be alive instead of just living day to day and wasting breath after breath. In that process, I found my passion which has turned into a business.
3. What are your three superpowers?
1. Dancing - Although my 10 year old son would disagree, I love to dance (not well mind you). But dancing in my kitchen with the music going while I am in front of my laptop gets my mind going.
2. Connecting with people - I was painfully shy when I was a kid but one day (well into adulthood) I decided to stop being shy. I emerged and I love, love, love talking with people and finding out their story.
3. Being grateful. I believe being grateful should be the core of our existence. A truly grateful heart can ward off negativity like no other. It is a superpower in itself because it can help one accomplish things that would other wise be viewed as impossible.

4. What's the most valuable piece of advice you've ever received?
That would have to be from my dad. In my world, my daddy hung the moon. He also has an incredible way of dealing with stress and maintaining perspective. When I have faced tough times and overwhelming situations, he has reminded me on several occasions - "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." It's almost cliche but mixed with the impact it has when my dad says it, I feel I can do anything. Obviously, you never outgrow needing a little bit of encouragement from your parents!
5. What are your three guilty pleasures?
1. Gotta have my Pinterest time!
2. The Voice on NBC. (I pretend to have no chidren on Monday nights).
3. Coca-cola Chocolate Cake at Cracker Barrel (I would love to volunteer for an experiment that focused on being able to survive eating only this).
6. When they make a movie of your life, which actress will play you?
Well, I think the obvious choice would be Marilyn Monroe because of the resemblance (ha!). But since that wouldn't be easily possible, I would have to "settle" for Ginnifer Goodwin. I am semi-obsessed with her right now after watching "Something to Borrow" a few (hundred) times.
7. Any words of wisdom for fellow female entrepreneurs?
In whatever you do, find your passion. Take time to get to know yourself and find what you truly love. Once you find it, make it yours.
