Facebook Business Pages

Facebook.  Once thought of as a place to reconnect with old friends, coworkers & classmates has now exploded into one of the most prosperous marketing avenues around.  Facebook has millions of users and is growing exponentially.  The time people spend using Facebook is also increasing.  If you don't already have  Facebook Business Page {formerly known as a Facebook Fan Page} its time to get one.  Here are some of the most compelling reasons to get a page set up ASAP:

One of the most important reasons to have a Facebook Business Page is that often times you are able to capitalize on the inevitable first page search engine ratings the site gets. Facebook and Bing have recently come together to create a more user friendly experience for those searching online.  When you enter a search in Bing your searches will be filtered through your Facebook connections, both in proximity and through the pages you have 'liked'.  'Liking' is how Facebook refers to someone clicking 'like' on a Facebook Business Page and becoming a follower.  The more people who 'like' your page, the better chance your business has of coming up in a search.

Facebook pages are far more personable than a website.  Add quotes, add pictures, add status updates.  Let your potential customers get to know you~everyone wants to know who they're doing business with.  While an 'About Me' page is essential on your website, Facebook just has a way of making people feel more comfortable-and its ever-changing.  It exudes personality, not to mention its easier to find than a website that's likely buried in the search engine rankings.

A Facebook Business page is 'one-stop-shopping'.  Everything is in one place.  If a potential customer wants to get a brief overview of your business, this is the best place.  Done right, it will have your contact information, website, blog, your chosen landing pages and more.

Its very likely your competitors have a page.  Don't give them the business because you're not visible in this huge {FREE} marketplace.

You are only allowed 5,000 friends on Facebook, however there is no limit to the amount of 'fans' you can have.  Dream big!  Do it right and you will have followers galore.

You can set your business page up to have your blog automatically feed to your business page.  Your blog post will almost instantly be live to all of the people who have 'liked' your page.  More people will see your posts and you are likely to end up with more blog followers.
You can also have a link to your Facebook page on your blog.

Due to privacy concerns, personal Facebook profile pages are not viewable to the general public, and often times not viewable to other Facebookers unless they are friends with that person.  Facebook Business pages are different.  They can be viewed by everyone {unless you change the settings}.  Another point worth mentioning is that because the business pages are viewable by the public, they are also able to be picked up by the search engines, thus creating greater exposure for your business.

There are plenty of reasons to have a Facebook business page but offhand, I can't think of a single reason NOT to.  If you want to get started with a Facebook Business page, I am happy to help.  Just CLICK HERE to get started.  I can have it up and running within 24-48 hours.
